Queen of Air and Darkness – Review

Yesterday, I just finished the series the dark artifices and let me tell you – I am destroyed. Cassandra clare’s books never fail to amaze. The infernal devices was my favourite now I am not too sure which one I love more. I finished Queen of Air and Darkness in about four days and that book is huge. I couldn’t put it down. I got so attached to the characters and when I finished the book, I just sat down and cried.

Queen of Air and Darkness picked up where Lord of Shadows ended off. I was only on the second page and I started to cry so so much. It is such a horrible leaving losing the one you love and if you see them getting like murdered. That is just something no one can overcome.

The first thing I want to talk about is the characters. When I tell you I fell in love with these characters, I FELL in love. I got so attached to them and I just miss them so much already.

Emma is just perfect, I literally adore her so much. She is one badass person, I’ll tell you that. Julian, my heart ripped into pieces especially when he made Magnus put that spell on him to not feel anything. That killed me because even when Ty wanted to talk to him he gave no emotion at all.  Mark, Christina, and Kieran, I really do love these characters and I thought their relationship was weird at first but it caught onto me. (Has anyone noticed that there are just so many characters, so I am not going to talk about everyone) BUT the last two people I want to talk about is Ty and Kit. Oh my gosh, I think these two were my favorites in the book, I love them to death and I wish I could have seen more of them.

The relationships and plot

Okay so, Julian and Emma. My heart broke for them for basically the full book. You could tell how much they loved each other and to be forbidden to be together could possibly be the hardest thing. I am so happy they got a happy ending. It made me upset when Julian turned off his feelings, like that broke me so much. It couldn’t stand loving Emma and not being able to have her.

Mark, Christina, and Kieran. At first, I thought this relationship was weird, I didn’t like it at first but then I started to open up about it more. They all did love each other so much and I thought it was so cute how protective they were of each other.

Ty and Kit… Okay I really need to express my feelings about this. I READ 870 PAGES AND I WANTED THEM TO GET TOGETHER AND NOTHING HAPPENED… which made me sad. You could tell they felt something for each other (unless that is just me) but they did care deeply for one another. I am also glad that Ty had someone else besides his sister. I didn’t like how at the end Kit left without even saying goodbye. I started balling.

I loved when they went into the faerie world. I think that world is so interesting and it was exciting to see all the different characters from the other novels too. I think my favourite part of the story was when Julian and Emma went to Thule. It was so cool to know how the world would have been if Jonathan didn’t get killed. I also loved how Livvy was in Thule and she was such a badass, she is so strong!

Anyway, I feel like I am rambling BUT this series is probably my favourite series and PLEASE if you’re thinking of reading it… DO IT!!

Have you read the dark artifices? If not, are you planning on it?

After Movie

Last Friday, I went to go see the After movie. I started reading After when I was really young when it was published on wattpad as a one direction fan fiction. I loved After when I was really young, it was such a huge part of my life. I remember staying up so late reading it, and fangirling about it with my cousins. Now, that doesn’t mean I agree with everything that goes on in the books. There are many problems with the book and the characters but it was such a huge part of my life so I was pretty excited to see the movie.

Overall I think the movie was okay. I really liked the actor that played Hardin but I feel like some of the acting wasn’t that great. It was cringe at some of the parts in the movie and it made me laugh. Also, it was really fast paced and I understand that they can’t fit everything into a two hour movie but I was shook that one of the parts that was like in the middle of the book was at the start at the movie. My friends who haven’t read the books were confused at some parts too.

The ending made me cry. The ending left me hanging so it would be cool to see how they make the next movie (if there is going to be one). I definitely would watch the movie again. It was really cool seeing something I loved so much being created into a movie and seeing it on a screen. My rating would probably be 3.5 out of five stars.

have you watched the after movie or read the books?

Book Review – Lord of Shadows

Hello everyone, long time no see! It’s been a while since I have posted because so many things have been going on in my life. School has been crazy, considering that I am applying to university this year I really need to get good grades so I have been working very hard on my school work. Also, I recently got diagnosed with type one diabetes so that has been so hard on me and definitely a big change in my life. I was really upset for the whole month of march but I have accepted it and getting back on track with my life. Anyway, while I was away I read a couple books and one of them was lord of shadows.

Emma Carstairs has just learned that the love she shares with her warrior partner and parabatai, Julian Blackthorn, inst just forbidden- it could destroy them both. She knows she should run from Julian. But how can she when the blackthorn family is threatened by enemies on all sides.

Their only hope is the black volume of the dead, a spell book of terrible power. Everyone wants it. Only the blackthorns can find it. Spurred on by a dark bargain with the seelie queen. Emma; her best friend, Christina, and mark and Julian Blackthorn embark on a journey into the Courts of Faerie where glittering revels hide bloody menace and no promise can be trusted.

As dangers close in, Julian devises a risky new scheme that depends on the cooperation of an unpredictable enemy. But success may come with a price he and Emma cannot even  imagine, one that could have repercussions for everyone and everything they hold dear.

This. book. destroyed. me. I absolutely loved this book but it ripped my heart to pieces. Cassandra Clare really knows how to hurt me. These characters are just amazing like the Blackthorns have my heart now wow. What I love most about this book is how much the Blackthorns love each other, like the bond that they all have amazes me. They would do anything for each other and I mean anything like they would die for one another.

Another thing I LOVED with ALL my heart is Kit and Ty. Oh my gosh, I fell in love with these two and you can tell they do care about each other so much. This friendship (maybe even more than one) is unbreakable and I really can’t wait to see what happens in the third book with them when I read it.

Emma and Julian, okay guys they killed me now. I really want them to be happy like so badly. It hurts me so bad because they love each other and they can’t be with each other. Not being able to have the one person you love is so heartbreaking and also when Julian had to see Mark and Emma together. That hurt him so bad.

Mark and Christina. I ship them but I also want him and kieran to be together? I don’t even know.

The. Ending. I balled my freaking eyes out. What Anabel did to Livvy like I can’t believe Livvy is dead now and I really did like her character so much and it just broke my heart. I just don’t know how Ty is going to deal with it, I feel so bad for him.

Book Review – Radio Silence

“Hello. I hope somebody is listening.”

Every time I was on bookstagram or twitter I would always see people talking about the book, Radio Silence. Whenever I see a book talked about so much, I always like to go on goodreads and read the description and reviews. So, that is what I did for radio silence. There were so many great reviews about it and many people on bookstagram told me to pick it up, that’s what I did. I am so happy I ordered it, this was one of the best books I have ever read.

Frances Janvier spends most of her time studying. When she’s not studying, she’s up in her room making fan art for her favorite podcast, Universe City.

Everyone knows Aled Last as that quiet boy who gets straight As. But no one knows he’s the creator of Universe City, who goes by the name Radio Silence.

When Frances gets a message from Radio Silence asking if she’ll collaborate with him, everything changes. Frances and Aled spend an entire summer working together and becoming best friends. They get each other when no one else does.

But when Aled’s Identity as Radio silence is revealed, Frances fears that the future of Universe city– and their friendship- is at risk. Aled helped her find her voice. Without him, will she have the courage to show the world who she really is? Or will she be met with radio silence?

There are not enough words to describe how amazing this book is. This was my first book that I read by Alice Oseman and it did not disappoint. So, let’s get started yeah?

This book hit me hard. I wasn’t expecting it but I laughed, cried, and felt so many different emotions. This book can get pretty dark in certain places. This novel has some trigger and warning content, there is talk about mental illness, depression, parent abuse, and how social media can have a bad affect on you. Radio Silence is a novel that shows you that your life is for you and only you. It’s okay to not know what you want to do with your life or who you want to be. In this novel, it demonstrates that society’s expectations, your parents expectations can be very hard on you and make you feel like you’re not living your life for you. You are living it for them. Now let’s talk about the characters.

Oh my gosh, when I tell you I fell in love with these characters. I FELL IN LOVE. These characters were just amazing. Frances Janvier narrates the whole novel and she is one of the smartest girls in her grade and she’s been head girl for years. I feel like I relate to Frances so much. While I was reading this book, Frances always claims that she doesn’t feel like she can be herself around her school friends and if she talked about the things she liked, they would judge her. I relate to that so much. I feel like I can’t be truly myself around my school friends and it’s a horrible feeling.

Aled Last, my literal baby and he needs to be protected at ALL costs. He has such a pure heart and he deserves the best in the world. Aled is the creator of Universe city and nobody knows that it is him who created it. He is so passionate about the things he loves and he is so reserved. He struggles with a few things in this novel like depression and he always feels like the people he has around him just feel sorry for him. In this novel, Aled was also centered around abuse. It was so hard to read sometimes, I just want to hug Aled so tight and tell him that he is worth it.

“I think everyone’s a bit bored with a boy-girl romances anyway. I think the world’s had enough of those, to be honest.”

The diversity and representation was great in this book. Not all of the characters are white and there are other characters that are POCs. Frances is bi-sexual. Aled is demi-sexual and there are others but don’t want to spoil anything!

So, I think I am coming to the end of my review. There are so many things I would like to say but I am going to leave it at that. This novel is definitely one of my favourites and please if you’re thinking of reading it. PLEASE DO.

Best Books I’ve Read Because of Bookstagram

The perfect fall weekend getaway-1.png

Hey everyone, how are you? Have you read lots so far even though it hasn’t even been two weeks of January!! I have only read two books, I just finished to kill a kingdom today.  While I was reading my book today, I was thinking that if I didn’t have a bookstagram or booktube I wouldn’t have read half the books I read. So I am going to show you guys some books I read because of bookstagram!

Untitled design-1

The first book I am going to start off with is Caraval. When I first started bookstagram, I always saw Caraval all over my feed and I had to pick it up because the cover looked so nice. I am so happy I picked it up because it is so good wow. It kept me second guessing everything and If you’re thinking of reading it, do it!

The infernal devices. Oh my gosh. This series is one of the best and it killed me. I would have probably never picked up any of cassie clares books if it wasn’t for bookstagram.

All of Colleen Hoovers books. Before I started any of my bookish social media, I never knew who Colleen Hoover was. The first book I read that she wrote was maybe someday and that book got me hooked, I had to buy all of her other ones.

Eliza And Her Monsters. If I went to the bookstore and saw this book sitting on one of the shelves, I don’t think I would have picked it up or read it. I am so happy I did pick it up though because Eliza is one of the characters I relate to the most and this book is just so good.

The next two books I am going to show is by the same author, Sarah J. Maas. Both of her series throne of glass and a court of thorns and roses are my favourite. I’m so picky with books and covers that I don’t think I would have picked any of these books if it wasn’t for bookstagram.

best. series. ever. read it.

Six of crows duology. Honestly there isn’t enough words to describe how good this is and it’s turning into a tv series!

Well here is some books I have read because of bookstagram! There are so many more but these are my favourites. Some others that I very enjoyed because of bookstagram is, they both die at the end, fangirl, aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe.

What books have you read because of booktube, bookstagram or blogs?

Shadow & Bone and Six of Crows On Netflix

The perfect fall weekend getaway-2.png

This blog post was not planned but guys I can’t help from FREAKING OUT. So, I was at home minding my own business then I went on Instagram and saw this post. At first, I thought it was fake.

When I saw this, I started to freak out because six of crows is my favourite series AND I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED A TV SHOW OR LIKE A MOVIE. I still didn’t believe it was true so then I went onto twitter and saw this.

So basically, I can’t wait for this and I HOPE that its good because these books are amazing and my whole life. I CANT STOP SCREAMING. I AM JUST SO HAPPY. I REALLY NEED TO REREAD THEM NOW.

Have you read  shadow and bone or six of crows? if you haven’t, you really should!!

2019 Bullet Journal

The perfect fall weekend getaway.png

Hello everyone, how is everyone’s 2019 so far? We are almost a week in and so far it hasn’t been too bad but exams are coming up soon so I am going to be stressing. Anyway, I am always behind on everything especially my bullet journal but this year I wanted to change that. I set up my bujo and I would love to share it with you.

Untitled design-1

I don’t like the cover page that much but I love the quote so much, “Let Your True Colours Shine.” When I look back at this page, it just reminds me to be who you are and show your true colours, be you and that will be enough.

Untitled design-1

Next, we have my January set up. So as shown in the picture, I drew out the calendar and then set up an important notes section for any important dates coming up. I also did a habit tracker. I love doing habit trackers because it helps me track everything that I should be doing and will make me want to do all those things.

Untitled design-1

Lastly, we have my blog posts spread. This spread is going to help me organize my blog and what I can post on a certain day. I am already behind because this post was supposed to be up on the fourth but oops i was too busy reading kingdom of ash!

Untitled design-1

This was a short blog post but I really wanted to share my bullet journal so far. I have so many other spreads I want to do but haven’t gotten around to it!

Do you have a bullet journal? or do you do any journal?
